I am a graduate of La Salle University with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and a minor in Psychology. Supplementing my degree, I also qualified for the Coordinated Program in Dietetics based in hospitals, community outreach centers and clinics, and fitness and rehabilitation centers within the Philadelphia area. I later completed my Masters of Science in Integrative and Functional Nutrition (IFN) from Saybrook University with a 100 hour internship at the Renfrew Center of Ridgewood, NJ and training from the Center of Mind Body Medicine.
My nutrition career began at the age of 12 when I sought out nutrition counseling for being obese. I did not know at the time what that term meant, but the school and then my peers sure let me know; the battle of weight and low self-esteem ensued. It became apparent that many individuals suffer from distorted body image and poor food relationships.
Throughout my personal and professional experience, I validated my overwhelming need to become a Registered Dietitian for the well-being of my clients. My nutrition philosophy has always been “it’s more than food”. This statement is an understanding of all struggles that are related to the many unhealthy thoughts and actions that we reenact each day surrounding eating choices and behaviors. Obtaining additional training in IFN, my goal for a client is to help them identify and understand their own relationship with food and individual nutritional needs by tapping into the philosophical, psychological, and emotional terms of the manners that hinder an individual from their best self.
Because of my experience, I am an active member in the National Eating Disorder Association as a leader of various National Eating Disorder Awareness Week activities. Annually, I participate in the NEDA Walk in New York City where I raise funds to spotlight how important the opportunity and possibility of recovery is. When not in session, I am with my family, friends, and beloved dog, traveling and finding adventures through Groupon, or re-watching Golden Girls, Eat Pray Love, or any football movie.

"From the very first appointment I had with Kelly in 2014 I knew she would be the driving force that pushed me to find peace with food. Kelly welcomed me with open arms in the thick of one of the darkest periods of my life, in the grips of an eating disorder. I was always afraid to go to a dietitian out of fear of them telling me what to eat and do, but Kelly was nothing of the sort. She understood me when I couldn’t understand myself, she sat and listened to me for two hour appointments helping me through my painful thought processes to shed the light on all the things I was struggling with and to steer me in the right direction. Kelly knows when to listen and sympathize but she also knows when you really need the push to get you going on the right track, wherever it may be. Her understanding, kindness, knowledge and wise words helped me turn my entire life around. I could not have asked for a better dietitian in my life and I think it is safe to say Kelly Di Fabio is one of the main reasons why I am happily recovered today!" V.N.
"I met Kelly at the end of 2014. She has helped me with the lifestyle changes that have aided me to evolve into who I am today. I've learned so much from Kelly when it comes to nourishment, including:
*Strategic ways in nourishing my body - ensuring that my protein, fat, carbs, and fiber are at the right balance for my body and the activity that I do. She's even spent time with me to help me understand the biological/ technical functions of what the body goes through or what the body requires to function - because I am truly that inquisitive!
*Kelly has also helped me to learn that nourishment goes beyond the food and that the mind and soul also need to be nourished through self care and self love. I've learned so much about myself as I've looked back; recognizing I wanted to progress but finding myself coming back to the same places that I've wanted to progress from because I didn't learn everything that I needed to in order to cross over to the next level. Through my visits with Kelly, I've learned that the only story I need to own is my own and no one else's... I am in charge of how I respond to my emotions, including when it comes to emotional/stress eating. I am able to identify my triggers through the self awareness that I've acquired over the last few years with Kelly.
She is very special because she connects with each client and guides them to find their best self! With each visit, I am progressively finding my way... Kelly is one of the few professionals who play an integral part of my circle of success; I am truly blessed to have her as a part of my story! " K.L.
"I saw Kelly when I began to struggle yet again with my eating disorder. I needed more help than just my therapist could provider, however I was very reluctant as this wasn’t my first rodeo. I thought I knew everything there was to know about nutrition. However, I was so wrong! Kelly was amazing and gave me a whole new prospective on nutrition, my body and my goals in recovery. I felt like she really worked with me and gave me realistic objectives to obtain each week and not a cookie-cutter meal plan that we both knew would not follow. Kelly really helped me see nutrition as fuel and made our appointments about finding joy in eating again and less about the weight or the medical necessary of needing to fuel my body properly. Kelly went above and beyond in our sessions. One time she even agreed to meet with my parents before we went on a family vacation together just to make sure I could have the best time possible. I would still see Kelly if I had not moved down south. She helped me stay honest and accountable and really began to see the light in recovery. I am jealous of anyone who can work with her! It will be worth it. " E.W.
"I began seeing Kelly in September of 2018. I came to her with a list of concerns, mostly related to insecurities revolving around my weight. I spent several sessions with Kelly, explaining to her where my body issues stemmed from, why I felt so poorly about myself because of my weight, and really needed sound advice to help dig myself out of the emotional trenches that I have been buried under for 29 years. Kelly has been so much more than a dietitian to me. She has been an adviser, a therapist, and lucky for me, a friend. I tell her every time we meet, but I think everyone else should know...once you meet Kelly, you will not be able to live without her. I will be forever indebted to her for the confidence she has helped me gain. " C.T.
